Overview
This unit introduces students to the vital part communication plays in professional life. In covering ideas and skills fundamental to professional communication success, it aims to build not only competence but also students’ confidence in functioning as ethical communicators, able to use a range of techniques to achieve desired communication, including across mobile, online, interactive and emerging forms of medial.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Identify and develop an industry standard model to interpret communication activity across diverse social and cultural communication contexts
- Identify and develop personal and professional communication styles through collaborative feedback
- Utilise foundational skills in researching, evaluating and presenting professional information across diverse and dynamic media formats
- Display confidence in approaching involvement in different forms of professional communication
- Assess the relevance of mobile, online, interactive and emerging forms of communication to professional communication requirements
